Traffic law questions drivers ask us

Do I need a lawyer for a traffic offence in NSW?

Not always. But if your licence, your job or your record is at risk, getting advice before you plead or appear in court gives you the best chance of a better result. A lawyer can tell you whether the charge can be challenged and what a magistrate will want to see.

Can I appeal a licence suspension in NSW?

Many licence suspensions can be appealed to the Local Court. Strict time limits apply, usually 28 days from the date of the notice, so it pays to get advice as soon as the notice arrives.

Will I get a criminal record for a traffic offence?

It depends on the offence and the outcome. In some cases a court can deal with a matter without recording a conviction. How your case is prepared and presented can make a real difference.

Is Big Rig Law only for truck drivers?

No. Big Rig Law is best known for heavy vehicle work, but Megan acts for car drivers across Sydney and NSW facing traffic charges, licence suspensions and court.

How much does a traffic lawyer cost?
