I’m Megan Allanson, the founder of Big Rig Law. I established this firm because I believe that heavy vehicle operators and drivers deserve legal support. I have a strong background in law, with a Juris Doctor, Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice and Bachelor of Criminology. My experience gives me a deep understanding of the legal system, especially heavy vehicle and traffic law.

Before starting Big Rig Law, I worked as a prosecutor for the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) and Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW) where I handled a range of matters including mass, fatigue, and work diary breaches, and licence appeals, mobile phone, and camera-related offences. During this time, I saw how challenging it was for drivers and transport companies to navigate the system. Many faced heavy fines and lacked proper legal representation, which didn’t sit right with me.

After my time in prosecution, I decided to focus on helping the people who keep Australia moving—truck drivers and the companies that employ them. I saw too many burdened with hefty fines because they didn’t fully understand the complex rules and it became clear that they needed someone to stand up for them.

That’s why I started Big Rig Law. I am personally committed to providing clear, honest, and affordable legal help to truck drivers and companies in the transport industry. My experience as a prosecutor gives me insight into both sides of the law and equips me to fight for my clients. I’m committed to giving straightforward advice without the confusing legal jargon, so you always know what’s happening.
